Materials Exploration

Research on new age materials for possible utilization in my future projects.

1M2 Stool

I base my design on the French Grande Arche de la Défense in addition to the foot steps I have added on either side to support the structure as it unlike the building, will be moved around. Techniques used for the project include tack welding, soldering, pressing, folding and cutting. My personal goal for the stool was to make it as rigid and strong as possible resulting in it being able to support over 100 kilograms.

Teapot

I have decided to use a wooden ornament, a water tap and a coat hook to create my quirky teapot, objects interesting enough while practical enough for use such as a teapot. A lot of experimentation and modification was necessary to execute the design as the objects had multiple contours therefore the use of multiple molds and extra carving would be needed.

Wooden Box

The hardest aspect of my box would be the craftsmanship needed to create the accurate dimensions needed for the magnets to align when closing the boxing the IEM display stand to snugly fit within. The concept behind my box was for it to serve as durable protection and as a display and storage compartment for my IEMs and all the accessories that come with them. Inspiration for my design comes from clamshells of which include two opening sides and in the middle a spot for the valuable ‘pearl’, in this case being the IEMs.

Product Photography Ideas

I use Diors’ famous parfum as Amy subject. I focus on light manipulations for my shots as inspirations and ideas gained from the shoot can be used for my family of objects in ‘Rotterdam Lighting Solutions’.
