F is for Fake - Home Not Alone

For one of my chosen electives I am tasked with creating a Deepfake clip of which I choose to create based on Home Alone. With team members Carine and Matas we decide to alter the meaning of the movie turning from the portrayal of a brave and fearless child to one which depicts the darker side of the concept. A child home alone, fearing for the worst when considered an obstacle to a home burglary. In addition to the Deepfake process we play with there color science and audio to add to our effect.

With team members Femke, Linde, Michelle and Rene we dive into creating a series of products for social practice of which addresses various social issues.

Commercial Practice - Biophonix Inc.

With team members Codruta, Corine, Rosalie and Sophie we focus on waste and reusability, particularly with clothing. Rather than a product or service, we chose to create a movement or awareness to inform people of the sheer amount of waste created with clothing alone. One will doubt throwing away certain pieces of clothing and rather use it more constructively.

The idea of making 'clothes' for iconic Rotterdam sculptures as well as other high traffic areas, increase awareness and will more easily stir conservation. ‘Why are they doing this, why are the clothes there?’

Autonomous Practice - Blaak Audio Map

With team members Femke, Marysia and Niki we create an alternative map of WDKA Blaak building, the first in a series of ‘sensory maps’. The intervention focuses on challenging the already existing floor plans made by the institution and adapted in a more useful way.

Practice Positioning

During this week I reflect on what I have learned during the previous practices and come up with a final interpretation linked to a great passion of mine. As more and more automobile manufactures use shared platforms between their different models one can wonder, how could a new model be adapted to suit a specific audience based on certain factors (in this case if BMW catered for social, commercial and autonomous spaces).
